Sexting is a negative activity for anyone under the age of 18 and in high school. It can lead to consequences under the law as well as bullying and other harsh side effects. Here at ThunderRidge High School, the student body is known for its elite clubs, sports, and activities. Students take pride in their school and realize that Thunder-Ridge is a very special place to be. How does this relate to sexting? With the social media revolution it is getting increasingly easier for teachers, coaches, and advisors to find out mistakes that students make. There are policies in place within several sports and activities that allow coaches and advisors to have the ability to dismiss a student if there are issues within the law. This is important because students at ThunderRidge should not be participating in any sort of illegal activity, such as sexting. With the many ramifications within the law, as well as the consequences within the school of students who choose to partake in these activities, sexting just is not worth it. It is the aim of all coaches, advisors and teachers to keep the reputation of ThunderRidge intact throughout the years, and we as students can help those above us by choosing to give our all in all of the activities we choose to participate in and refrain from sexting.
